2015-16 Canadian Snowboard National, Development and NextGen Teams Announced

Vancouver, B.C. – Canada Snowboard has named 33 athletes to the 2015-16 national teams and identified 16 athletes to the Development and NextGen Teams.

Canada Snowboard’s athletes delivered standout performances this past season, which included two Dew Tour, three World Championship and US Open, five Winter X Games and ten World Cup podiums.

The National Team consists of 17 male and 16 female athletes from the following disciplines: slopestyle, halfpipe, snowboardcross, parallel slalom, parallel giant slalom and para-snowboard.

The Development and NextGen Teams consists of eight male and seven female athletes from the following disciplines: slopestyle, snowboardcross and para-snowboard.

The upcoming competition season will commence with a FIS World Cup in Cardrona, New Zealand late August for slopestyle and halfpipe. Other notable events on the calendar for the upcoming season include the Youth Winter Olympic Games in Lillehammer, Norway, which, is scheduled for February and the World Championships of Snowboarding in Yabuli, China in March 2015, which is presented by the World Snowboard Federation and TTR Pro Snowboarding.
